Pairing Lonerider Beer With Girl Scout Cookies

loneriderbeer

We honestly believe that any time is a good time for a North Carolina craft beer, and no meal or dessert can turn that into a bad decision. And Girl Scout cookies are no exception. These tasty treats from childhood make for a great snack or dessert (and for some of us, a meal) that goes great with an adult beverage (aka your local brew).

The NC Beer Guys at WRAL have made a list of awesome pairings with some great brewery friends, but if you’re looking to drink a Lonerider beer with your cookies (or want to bring some cookies to the Hideout and drink with us), we recommend these pairings:

Hoppy Ki Yay IPA with Lemonades and Cranberry Citrus Crisps: The citrus and grapefruit aromas of our year-round IPA go well with the citrus and fruity elements of these cookies, without making your mouth or tongue feel too dry.

Deadeye Jack Porter with Thanks-A-Lot: Thanks-A-Lot boasts that shortbread you love in the traditional Shortbread cookies, but with chocolate. Our porter doesn’t over power one over the other, allowing you to enjoy all flavors at once.

Sweet Josie Brown Ale with Caramel deLites (Samoas) and Peanut Butter Patties (Tagalongs): Sweet Josie is a sweet, malty and chocolately beer, making it a great companion for these two sweet cookies. It’s a rich match, which is just what you need when you want that decadent sugar rush. The beer will highlight the chocolate characters in both cookies, and also serve as a taste vehicle for the caramel and peanut better. Does it get better any better than this? Honestly: no.

I think it’s safe to say that if you hand an Outlaw a Girl Scout cookie, that Outlaw is gonna eat it with a tasty, Lonerider beer. But don’t take our word for it: contact us to get your hands on Lonerider brews, and enjoy its kick with your cookies.
