Thanksgiving with the Outlaws – Beer Pairings
The feast of the year is quickly approaching, and sometimes the more difficult choice is not what to pile on your plate, but what to fill your glass with. The Outlaws at Lonerider have saved you the trouble of making the toughest decision of the day. Below are some of our brewer’s suggestions for doing Thanksgiving the right way:
Shotgun Betty – Our flagship German-style hefeweizen has a rich, banana-clove nose and a light and refreshing dry finish. Our brewers agree that this pairs well with a savory soufflé, corn casserole, or pudding dessert.
Sweet Josie – The roasted flavor abundantly present in our signature brown ale match well with roasted turkey and gravy, as well as ham or roasted veggies. The toasted dark chocolate and subtle notes of stone fruit aid in the roast flavor but not strong enough to overpower the taste.
Hoppy Ki Yay – While hops pair well with most anything, our brewers found that our flavorful Hoppy Ki Yay IPA pair surprisingly well with frosted cakes, the classic pairing being carrot cake.
Deadeye Jack – Our sharpshooting seasonal porter consists of a strong malty background with notes of Toffee and English hops. With subtle sweetness, we suggest pairing this guy with sweet potato casserole, and dessert.
Between the delicious beer pairings and tryptophan, we hope you’ll make it through the fourth quarter of the football game!
