The Outlaw’s Guide to Beer and Halloween Candy

halloweenLRpic

Halloween is almost here. And let’s face it, everyone knows that the best time of year to buy candy is the day after Halloween. We also won’t judge you for eating your children’s candy. What’s more adult than eating your children’s candy? Enjoying that sweet candy with some fine craft brews.

Lonerider has put together a list of beer suggestions that will pair nicely with all that Halloween candy.

Hoppy Ki Yay IPA – We’ve discovered that IPA’s pair well with cinnamon flavored candies, like Hot Tamales for example. The hoppiness of the beer cuts through the spiciness of these hot and sweet candies, making this the perfect pair.

Deadeye Jack Porter– With notes of roasted chocolate and a strong malty background, this porter pairs deliciously well with dark chocolate. The dark chocolate brings out the roasted flavor in Deadeye Jack so well that you might just have to have another.

Shotgun Betty Hefeweizen– Our flagship brew’s banana clove flavor, with hefeweizens traditional bready, wheaty undertones pair well with crunchy chocolates such as Twix, Crunch, Ferrero Rocher, just to name a few of my favorites.

Sweet Josie Brown Ale– Our favorite brown eyed gal pairs well with chocolate peanut cups, like Reeses! The aromatic malts and subtle chocolate taste in Josie goes perfect with sweet peanut butter. Have you ever tried our Peanut Butter Sweet Josie? Enough said.

Saloon Style Pilsner – This crisp and refreshing beer has a hint of lemon, that pair well with fruity and sour candies, my favorite being Sour Patch Kids and Swedish Fish. The bright flavor from the pilsner won’t overpower the fruitiness and enhances the tartness.

Happy Halloween everyone!
