Ale brewed with green tea and lemongrass
This Belgian wit inspired beer is a refreshing, light ale brewed with green tea and lemongrass
Pours clear, and light yellow in color. The head is light and quickly dissipating..
The lemongrass and green tea yields a bright and herbaceous nose. Hop and malt aroma is low to undetectable.
The flavor follows the nose. Hops and malt are barely tasted. It is very very light in body and finishes clean with subtle tartness from the green tea and lemongrass.
This beer should be served at 38-42 degrees. With a simple fresh beer like this, it is even more important that the draftlines are clean and the glasswear is beer clean. We suggest serving this in a pilsner glass or even a kolsch stange.
2 row pale malt makes up the majority of the grist. Hops are kept low with small, single bittering addition. Green tea and lemongrass is added into the whirlpool. Amylo 300 enzyme is added during fermentation to aid in 100% attenuation.
